Spooky Blocks!

Writer's picture: AmeliaAmelia

Hi everyone! I've been creating lots of 4 inch quilt blocks, the blocks that are the perfect size to quilt and bind to create coasters with. They are also great putting into a mini quilt!

Spooky block collection

Since it's October now, that seems like a great time to show off my spooky blocks! This is sold in my Etsy shop as a bundle, or you can buy each pattern individually (if you buy the bundle, it's a 20% savings!). Each of these blocks finish at 4.5 inches square (4 inches when you put them in a mini quilt). Each pattern comes with instructions to quilt and bind the block, so you can turn them into spooky drink coasters, perfect for Halloween!

They are so quick to make, the hardest part is figuring out what fabric to use! But since these are such small blocks, they are perfect for using up scraps. So if you have a fabric scraps you love that you can't bear to get rid of (they're so beautiful!), but also are too small to use anywhere? These blocks are perfect! The black you see in the picture that I used on the bat, and the cat face and in the ghost eyes? I love that fabric, but only had little scraps left. But it's sparkly and gorgeous, and I'm so glad I was able to create a project that used them!

(Okay, I might have created a bat pattern specifically to use that black...)

The blocks are available at https://acraftyphoenix.etsy.com . Check them out today, along with my other patterns!
